Warning: You may see a little boy bum... or 2... or more

Bible School

Liam and Ezra got to do a week of Bible School with Andy and Rudy. It was not from our religion, but I think anything that teaches your child to love Jesus is a good thing, so we enrolled them. It was a lot of fun for them, and they did some cool things, and some fun crafts. They had a nice program on the last day where they showed us all the dances they learned, and we all got to sample the snacks that they were given all week. It was a fun experience.
Mosiah was there with us for the final performance and he was given a lei from one of the ladies, and Liam let him play with his too, so he had a great time. The whole week was Hawaiian themed, and lots of fun.

RAIN

I love rain. LOVE LOVE LOVE. And living in the dessert doesn't bring much, so when it happens we take advantage. It was really windy and cloudy the other day so I went outside to check the progress just as it started to rain. I called out the boys, and we sat on the step catching the occasional drop and talking about how nice it smelled. After a couple of minutes the wind really picked up, and it blew over a chair, which totally freaked out Ezra, so he ran for cover, terrified. That's when it started to pour buckets of water. Liam and I had a great time in it, and then Mo, not wanting to be left out, came out too. We ended up out on the trampoline until it started to hail, and then we ran for cover. Liam ran back out to taste it though, and was just so impressed that it was "raining ice". Bill and I were pretty impressed too, because the hail was not tiny, it was decent sized, and it was 100 degrees outside. Imagine that hail if it had been a cold day!

God Bless the USA

Well, I think I'm finally getting the whole morning sickness thing under control, and I feel like I can do a post or two today, so here is our long outdated Fourth of July post.

We started off the day with the parade, which was nothing spectacular, but fun for the boys anyway.

We spent the afternoon at home, and then around 6:00 we decided to go out for dinner at a little Thai restaurant by our home. It was the best food I'd had my whole pregnancy and I was quite happy about it. After that we headed over to the Park for the firework display. We sat right beside the "Monster Truck" and got some great pictures of it and with it. We thoroughly enjoyed it until the owner decided to start it up and rev the engines right after the fireworks, permanently damaging every ones eardrums.

We brought glow sticks for the boys, thinking that they would love them, but Mo hated his with a passion. We made him wear it though, because he kept running off to look at this really cute baby that was in front of us, and we needed something bright to identify him.

Grandma bought the boys all lizard and snake puppets that were so cute. They played with them all night, and our boys still have and love theirs.

The fireworks show was probably the best I've ever seen. The newspaper here summed it up best when they described the finally as "the closest thing to a second sun in the darkened sky." It was spectacular and breathtaking. I watched back the video of the last minute of the show that I took on my camera, and it actually brought tears to my eyes, again.... give me a break, I'm pregnant. Somehow Mo fell asleep during the fireworks, which was darling, but was rudely awakened when Mr. Monster Truck decided to show off.

What do you remember?

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew/know me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Tour of the Fire Department

So, as some of you know the boys and I are part of a homeschool group here. Last week we were supposed to meat at the Fire House and get a tour, but when I showed up none of the group was there... so as I stood there and looked like an idiot, wondering what to do, and the boys danced around me yelling "I wannnnnna gooooooo and seeeeeeeeee the fiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrre fiiiiiiighteeeeeeeersssssssssss!" the lady at the front desk said "let me see if I can get you a mini tour today." While she talked to one of the "guys" I set up an appointment for the homeschoolers for the next week (which was yesturday, and we skipped it due to morning sickness).

We waited a couple of minutes and then John took as for a tour of the fire house. I didn't ask all the questions I had because I figured we'd be back next week, so I'm feeling a little jipped, and I'm still wondering where the firemen sleep, but I'm sure I'll get over it.

We got to see the training center, and the equipment they use to get used to fire hydrants, and hoses and stuff. We got to look inside an ambulance, and we saw all the fire gear lined up on the floor in between the trucks, waiting for the next emergancy. We saw a wall of history, which was all the pictures taken at the scenes of accidents. And we got to see a cool picture of the original trucks that were here, and they were all hand me downs. 2 of them are still at this fire department. One of the trucks they have here served in New York on 9/11, and it proudly displayed a sticker saying so. The boys each got to sit in a fire truck and John showed us the lights and other cool stuff.

It was a lot of fun, and really personalized. We met an EMT, and I'm just wondering, why are all EMT's so incredibly good looking? Just curious.

Anyways, if you ever get the chance to take your kids to a fire department, don't miss it, (especially if you have boys) because it's just way to cool.
